Our main focus is to use reliable components/-solutions and to maximise the wear resistance and working life of the pump. The pump module has been qualified with a standard radial piston pump.
Three compartments for pump, motor and electronics.
Frequency Controlled AC electro motor, 4,2kW.
When the pump is charging hydraulic accumulators to store hydraulic energy, the charging time can be adapted to the available electrical power. This is particularly important if the equipment is introduced on existing installations where available electrical power is limited.
No dynamic seal between pump and motor.
Radial piston pump, 3,14l/min.
Tool-Tech AS has also made a “super durable” pump with internal parts (pistons, cylinders, valves and roller bearings) by use of industrial ceramics.
The SHPM is used either in a Sub Sea HPI or closed loop Sub Sea HPU mode of operation.

Sub Sea Hydraulic Pump Module (SHPM) Shown separately retrievable with structure and guiding system. |
|
- Vertical orientation. - Stainless steel structure. - Connections with hot stabs (as shown), or integrated in landing arrangement. - Estimated weight 450kg. |
|
Tool-Tech AS has developed a prototype sub-sea hydraulic pump module for sub sea production control systems which has been qualified at Statoil-Hydro’s research facility in Porsgrunn. Tool-Tech has further developed and improved the prototype pump module solution. |

Phase I – Test of standard pump. Test of prototype at Herøya 2007/2008 - Completed.
Phase II – Test of pump with Industrial Ceramic internal parts, - Planned in-house test at Stord.
Alternative use; Grease injection for Light Well Intervention Systems. (LWI) SS Hydraulic power generation for LWI or Deep Water WOCS applications. Methanol/MEG pumping Sub Sea with ceramic internal parts - (with larger pump).
Tool-Tech can also offer larger pump modules for other services. We have done a study for 630 kW HPU for hydraulic power to a subsea mud pump for a new drilling concept (Controlled Mud Cap).
