Tool-Tech’s aim is to make new solutions and technology available to the subsea industry. We see ourselves as a company that can bridge the technological gap between the component suppliers and the subsea system suppliers through our innovative solutions, industry network, our detailed know-how and our subsea system knowledge from more than 20 years in the business.
The component suppliers which deliver products to the offshore and sub sea business are often specialists on their own products, but may have limited system and application knowledge. Many are very large companies and the products they offer are often just the best industry product they have in their portfolio. Since they only deliver the component to the system supplier and don’t make money on the system application, they don’t have the incentive to deliver the “super quality” product that is really needed and the low sales volume does not make it profitable to allocate resources to such development.
Tool-Tech’s main business idea is to develop new products for the subsea market where we see a need for new, better solutions, or products. Tool-Tech AS can provide products that are developed particularly for subsea use, integrate new technology in system solutions, adapt existing industry products for subsea/offshore use, or deliver totally new products based our own inventions. In our product development we cooperate with other companies, mainly Hydac and Sandvik. Some examples can be seen in the presentations on our web site. Adapted industry products developed for Hydac are marketed and sold through Hydac’s organisation with Tool-Tech as a sub-supplier.
We also perform subsea system studies for our clients, where we use our general Sub Sea know-how and combine available technology with development of the “missing bits” – special components that are not available in the market for the special application and “impossible to get” because of small delivery volume. These items are developed and qualified as Tool-Tech special products and delivered to the client’s project, or integrated in a system or sub-system delivery from Tool-Tech.
Tool-Tech AS has developed several new inventions and products for Sub Sea Control System Applications. These are in various stages of patent application. Some of the inventions are described on our web site.
