Over the years, we have seen that the best available “off the shelf” product is often far from good enough, but is still being used since there are no alternatives. The consequences are down time on equipment, high maintenance cost and in worst case costly intervention operations, or loss of production. Pressure regulators are a typical example. There are no high pressure regulators on the market at the moment that is reliable enough to be used in a permanently installed Sub Sea control system.
Tool-Tech has long experience from service of pressure regulators in the Sub Sea industry. We have used our “know-how” to develop a new, “super reliable” regulator for the Sub Sea market. |

Detail design work for a prototype regulator has been completed. The prototype will be tested later this year, - 2009.
The pressure regulator will be rated to 10.000psi Design Pressure.
A major problem with available regulators is that they will often start to oscillate with too high differential pressure. This destroys the regulator internal parts. Our design will prevent such oscillation through a dampening function.
High internal friction leads to hysteresis.
Use of industrial ceramic internal parts will reduce friction and the internals will be very durable. |

The regulator can be adjusted with a fixed setting, be equipped with an ROV handle, or be equipped with electrical actuator with remote control. The regulator can also be delivered for use in surface applications with manual handle.
